Outward Bound USA is a non-profit educational organization that advances the vision of our founder, Kurt Hahn, the mission of Outward Bound across the USA, and provides services and funding in support of eleven regional Outward Bound Schools. We invite you to join our donor community, to invest in our collective future.  We ask for your support so that together we can continue to build compassionate leaders with limitless possibilities.

CREATING YOUR LEGACY: Donors are invited to become part of Outward Bound’s national educational legacy by including Outward Bound USA in your will or as part of your estate plan. By doing so, you ensure the lasting impact of Outward Bound’s mission for generations to come and move us towards our vision of more compassionate individuals in a more compassionate world. A legacy gift is more than a donation. A Tribute Donation

Contributions in memory of or in honor of…

Outward Bound donors may choose to contribute to honor a student, a staff member or another friend of Outward Bound, or in memory of an alum, a former staff or Board member, or another friend of Outward Bound.  Tribute contributions can be made directly through the DONATE page form.

Named scholarship funds

Outward Bound donors may establish named or memorial scholarship funds at Outward Bound USA. These are endowed or annually funded programs that award scholarships based on specific criteria, or in memory of an individual.  For more information on establishing a named or memorial scholarship, contact Katie Newsom, OBUSA’s Chief Advancement Officer at knewsom@outwardbound.org.

Employer Donation Match

Corporate matching contributions are a type of philanthropy where companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations.

When you donate, you can request a matching gift from your employer, who then makes a direct donation to the same nonprofit. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio.
