Outward Bound sea kayaking courses place you on crystal blue waterways, reef-studded bays and barrier islands—locations best experienced by water. Carrying everything you need in your water-vessels, you’ll learn to travel light and efficiently. Working together, you and your crew will paddle and traverse quite coastline bays that bare the lines of ebbs and flows, to large passageways with a confluence of currents requiring strength and confidence to journey across. Each day you’ll learn and grow in technical skills including paddle strokes, rescue skills, navigation and tidal chart readings—skills that charter independence and leadership on expedition and in life.
Courses take place across diverse coastlines and coastal environments rich with wildlife and marine life including whales, seals, porpoises, deer and wild horses. Take in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest in the San Juan Islands, the lighthouse dotted coastlines of the Outer Banks, the rich history of Chesapeake Bay or the remote archipelago of Bocas Del Toro in Panama. Each location presenting its own beauty, challenges, lessons and accomplishments to be discovered by each crew of students.
