At the end of December, Outward Bound alumnus Josh McLane returned from three months work on an incredible aid project that he launched and accomplished at the Kao La Amani orphanage in Boma Ng’ombe, Tanzania. The idea was to create a project that helped the orphanage support its financial needs through a thriving pig farm. Josh raised funds for the project and traveled to Boma Ng’ombe, Tanzania where he joined the family running the orphanage, hired local workers, purchased supplies and helped to build a pig barn and water system. With the assistance of Heifer International, Josh helped to provide education focused on the care and management of livestock to continually create profits used to pay for food, medical expenses and school fees.
