We caught up with two-time alum, PJ Stafford and asked him to share some Outward Bound memories and how he has remained a service leader through the years. Thank you PJ for sharing and continuing to make a positive impact on the world!

Most vivid Outward Bound memory:
I loved watching the snow melt into little streams, that converged into a mountain lake, then into a marsh and eventually into a raging river running down a mountain valley.
Outward Bound Lessons I still remember:
Your patrol can only go as fast as the slowest member. Since you cant leave him behind, you may as well lighten his load and work together.
Day Gig:
Co-Founder (with wife) of Green Irene LLC, largest Green Consulting firm in the US with 600 Eco-Consultants who green client’s homes and are the outsourced Chief Sustainability Officers for small businesses.

Service Leader:
I mentor first time entrepreneurs and students who want to be entrepreneurs to help them avoid some of the pitfalls I’ve faced in the five companies I have started. Some of Outward Bound’s 4 Pillars comes in handy in building your own company, including building a habit of self-reliance and craftsmanship.
