Julia Farmer is a seasoned leader in the non-profit and philanthropy sector, currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at Outward Bound USA. With over two decades of experience, she is renowned for her ability to build strong partnerships and foster collaborations aimed at impactful work. Her journey began at the North Carolina Outward Bound School in 2006, where she served as Senior Development Officer, successfully enhancing the organization's growth through relationship building. Julia's commitment to Outward Bound is evident in her career trajectory, which led her to roles such as Director of Annual Giving and Director of Development before becoming the Chief Development Officer. Her leadership has been characterized by innovative fundraising efforts and a collaborative culture that encourages teamwork and shared success.
Before her tenure at Outward Bound, Julia devoted nearly ten years to Northfield Mount Hermon, where she held significant roles related to parent and alumni engagement and development. Her strategic approach to engagement has left a lasting impression on the organizations she's been part of. Julia earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Alabama, where she actively participated in the Public Relations Student Association and worked closely with the Alabama Football program as a Bama Belle.
